Hi!
I’m Mrs. Valles, a teacher and the founder of Smart Thinkers LLC. I have a passion for helping students grow, learn, and feel confident in themselves — and I believe that with the right support, every student can thrive.I graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown with a major in Spanish and a minor in English-Spanish Translation. I’ve been in education for the past 8 years, working with young learners from Pre-K through 2nd grade. For the past two years, I’ve also been tutoring students in Kindergarten through 4th grade, providing one-on-one attention to help them strengthen their skills and build confidence.Every student learns differently, and I love finding the right approach to help them succeed. I can’t wait to help you out!
Hi, I’m Cristian Garcia! I’m not a teacher, but I’m passionate about tutoring and helping students master math. I’ve always loved math (until calculus—story for another day, lol). I graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management and a minor in HR. With years of experience tutoring elementary and middle school students, I’m excited to help your child boost their grades and confidence!
Hello, I’m Ms. Herrera! I graduated from the University of Houston on March 2024 and I am a first year kindergarten teacher. It has been a great experience working with my first year kiddos, but I am always looking for more opportunities to grow my educational career. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Psychology, and I am currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Child Development. Hello, My name is Carolyn Assaad. I am a retired educator who lives in Pearland. I am certified in general education, special education, ESL, and school counseling. I taught Math, Reading, and Language Arts to students with special needs for 27 years in grades K-8 and I was also an elementary school counselor for 3 years before I retired. Now I substitute teach and tutor because I still love working with children. I have two children of my own, but they are both technically adults now (ages 18 and 23) and I have 4 “furbabies” also, 1 dog and 3 cats. I look forward to working with the families at Smart Thinkers and thank you for trusting me to help your child grow and learn!
